IT took 166 years before a movie on Charles Dickens’ story book “A Christmas Carol” got into the silver screen. And apparently, it’s worth the wait.

With the top role being played by versatile Hollywood star Jim Carrey, the movie takes on the capitalism in the 19th century.

At a time when capitalism faces uncertainty amid the global economic meltdown and investment fraud, the movie appears “very timely”, as characters in the movie — Ebenezer Scrooge, a greedy business magnate in the Dickens’ tale, finds his way back into righteousness.

Carrey, who plays the role of corporate scumbag Scrooge, describes the Disney movie as very relevant today. He said that is a very pressing story for the modern day. In one of his interview, Carrey even went on to say: “I think stories get told at times when they’re supposed to be told”.
